Benefits of Elderberry

May Fight Influenza

A standardized elderberry extract may offer a safe, natural alternative to treat influenza type A and B, suggest A. Jakay Rones and associates, based on their doubleblind, placebocontrolled study published in the winter 1995 issue of Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine, New York. The efficacy of this elderberry extract was assessed on a group of subjects during a major outbreak of influenza virus in Panama in 1993. The authors found that 90 percent of subjects who took elderberry extract were completely cured within two to three days, where the placebo group achieved the same results within six days.

We can use take to say how much time we need to do something. Three constructions are possible.
    [person + take + time + infinitive]
I took three hours to get home last night.
She takes all day to wake up.
    [activity + take(+ person) + time]
The journey took me three hours.
Gardening takes a lot of time.
    [It + take + person + time + infinitive]
It took me three hours to get home last night.
It takes ages to do the shopping.
